What’s Out There Weekend, scheduled for October 25 & 26, features free, expert-led tours at more than two-dozen significant examples of designed landscapes in and around Richmond. The Richmond-area includes antebellum plantations and gardens, Colonial Revival city gardens, remarkable post-industrial parkland integrated with the James River, and significant Modernist plazas and public spaces. What’s Out There Weekend tours provide fascinating insights about city shaping, landscape architecture, and the design history of places that people may pass every day but don’t necessarily know about.
